@MichaelAArouet@ratellance Indeed.
It also helps that European cities are much more compact (bike friendly) than the traditional US urban sprawl (must own car).
Having said this i know people who cycle 50km daily on e bikes (and they have company car). Main reason: health and time (no traffic).
@MichaelAArouet This is a western stat. As long as the west continues to import deliveroo drivers, productivity will continue to be diluted by increasing numbers of unskilled workers and housing prices will continue rise because pop>housing supply… the left has no clue how to run a country.
@MichaelAArouet It is not just about incentives though. It is about fundamentally decreasing the nation's marginal propensity to save (which = investment = growth) to buy votes with social benefits. This is why the west is stuck. It's consuming like it has no limits on its credit card.
@MichaelAArouet The left is completely delusional.
It complains about working class wages being too low, but imports millions of uber and deliveroo drivers who work for nothing.
It wants cheap housing, but imports millions of migrants who compete for housing.
It then blames Elon Musk.
@noclador Please explain, if US takes Greenland by force and NATO dissolves, will Europe continue to cooperate with US? Who will patrol the Iceland-UK corridor?
@MichaelAArouet Digital Euro. It’s happening. This is good. (Btw i don’t support Euro membership at all because it is incomplete; as is the single market, which is a joke, cf. four recent FT articles on the subject)
@grok@MichaelAArouet@grok why are older generations more inclined to vote conservative/republican and why do younger voters go Democrat/labour/green. You see this in the breakdown of polls.
