@dairymanNZ Yeah it poor comms from the hazard sector, which they do acknowledge internally. There is a 100% chance things will happen. The strategic approach would build this into all planning. Most leaders hope it doesn't happen on their 3-5 year watch.
@5BNylonTip Unless you have a complete breakdown of the state, export contracts will be enforced, by force if necessary. Not saying this is a good thing. Ethiopia was exporting during their 88s drought, as was Ireland during its famine.
@waateanews Mainstream Maori farming/fisheries/forestry is as unsustainable as the rest of those sectors. Kaitiakitanga accepts the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics-no exponential growth in a closed system.
@MrHilariouskiwi@jofromgreylynn Mate of mine rented that place about 20 years ago. Stayed there maybe 3 times. Rundown faux Spanish hacienda, very 70s. Had a ballroom. Both houses either side bought and demolished. I heard Spencer's made their money in toilet paper.
@JoyceCarolOates Was visiting UoArizona 2009ish. Everyone had a furlough day once every 2 weeks. So 10% paycut. Everyone except the baseball and football coaches on over $2m each.
@PedagogyMaxima Same with Div 1 rugby in Canterbury. Relying on Facebook and a volunteer posting times and venues. These logistics are known well ahead of time.
It’s not true what the grocer’s daughter said. This may be a shock, but there’s no such thing as “taxpayer money”. She lied. There’s only government money, and if government doesn’t spend enough money into the economy, taxpayers don’t have money to pay taxes. Or live on.🧵👇
@MrHilariouskiwi@ElwellGraham I'm a researcher with the Māori biosecurity network. We have on the ground pest controllers, also sit on committees looking at new tools. Whatever we end up with, the country will need many millions to just maintain the semblance of control.
