People would rather cling to the fairy tale that one party is a hero and the other is a villain than accept the fact that we live in a nightmare where both parties are villains who turned our government into a money-laundering syndicate for billionaires, corporations, and Israel.
Two economists just published a mathematical proof that AI will destroy the economy.
Not might. Not could. Will — if nothing changes.
The paper is called "The AI Layoff Trap." Published March 2, 2026. Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. Boston University. Peer reviewed. Mathematically modeled.
The conclusion is one sentence.
"At the limit, firms automate their way to boundless productivity and zero demand."
An economy that produces everything. And sells it to nobody.
Here is how you get there.
A company fires 500 workers and replaces them with AI. A competitor fires 700 to keep up. Another fires 1,000. Every company is behaving rationally. Every company is following the incentives correctly. And every company is building a trap for itself.
Because the workers who were fired were also customers.
When they lose their jobs faster than the economy can absorb them, they stop spending. Consumer demand falls. Companies respond by cutting costs — which means automating more workers — which means less spending — which means more falling demand — which means more automation.
The loop has no natural exit.
The researchers tested every proposed solution. Universal basic income. Capital income taxes. Worker equity participation. Upskilling programs. Corporate coordination agreements.
Every single one failed in the model.
The only intervention that worked: a Pigouvian automation tax — a per-task levy charged every time a company replaces a human with AI, forcing them to price in the demand they are destroying before they pull the trigger.
No government has implemented this. No major economy is seriously discussing it.
Meanwhile the numbers are already tracking the curve. 100,000 tech workers laid off in 2025. 92,000 more in the first months of 2026. Jack Dorsey fired half of Block's workforce and said publicly: "Within the next year, the majority of companies will reach the same conclusion."
Nobody is doing anything wrong. Companies are following their incentives perfectly. That is exactly the problem.
Rational behavior. At scale. Simultaneously. With no mechanism to stop it.
Two economists built the math. The math leads to one place.

🚨🇨🇺 Cuba unveils lung cancer vaccine set to outperform expensive Western cures
VAXIRA, developed by Cuban and Argentine scientists, trains the immune system to destroy advanced non-small cell lung cancer cells with minimal side effects.
🔸 The vaccine targets a cancer-specific molecule but spares healthy tissue
🔸 Median survival more than doubled from 34 to 77 months in long-term tests
🔸 The cost of the drug is $5,000 per year, compared to $200,000 for year for Western alternatives
VAXIRA marks yet another milestone Cuban biotechnology – despite the 65-year US blockade of the island.
Lindsey Graham has spent decades answering to the special interests, lobbyists, and donor networks that run Washington.
I won’t.
This campaign is not funded by political action committees or special interest groups. I don’t owe AIPAC. I don’t owe the establishment. I don’t owe the political class.
I owe nothing to anyone but the people of South Carolina and the principles I refuse to compromise.
On June 9, send Washington a message: South Carolina’s Senate seat is not for sale.
BREAKING: 🇨🇳 China's court just ruled companies can't fire workers only to replace them with AI.
Beijing is warning firms that putting profit over jobs could carry penalties, especially when it comes to young people.
Read that again. The country racing hardest to win the AI race just told its own companies to slow down.
You can't automate a human out of a job purely to cut costs.
China has high youth unemployment and a slowing economy. A wave of AI layoffs would devastating.
So Beijing is doing what it always does.
Stability first. Efficiency second.
The "AI replaces everyone" trade assumes nothing stands in the way. Beijing just stood in the way. By decree.
What if one crop could help clean our soil and strengthen our rural economy?
Hemp can help clean contaminated fields, improve soil health, and give producers another way to make a living.
We should be investing in solutions that help Texans, not protecting the interests of the Greedy Few.

Tens of thousands of lawsuits have been filed against Bayer for failing to warn people about the risks of glyphosate exposure.
Now, EPA Administrator Zeldin and Trump are pushing for legal immunity to protect Bayer from being sued by Americans getting cancer from their product.
Perfect line of questioning from @RoKhanna. It’s one thing to say the war is worth the cost to America, it’s another to not know the cost! We just found out, because of this line of questioning, that the Pentagon didn’t even bother figuring out how much this is going to cost us!
PETE HEGSETH: “I don’t give a shit about the economic impact the Iran war has on Americans.”
Of course he doesn’t care. Hegseth doesn’t serve America or Americans; he serves the secular genocidal state of Israel.
Gas prices skyrocketed, 14 service members are dead, and the Secretary of War doesn’t know how much the war in Iran is costing Americans.
But the House introduced a resolution to condemn Hasan Piker.
I want a bipartisan coalition to end the war and take on the Epstein class.
FISA 702 just passed the House.
This bill lets the government search Americans’ private communications without a warrant—in direct violation of the Fourth Amendment.
But don’t blame the GOP alone.
Forty-two Democrats betrayed the American people to help Mike Johnson pass it.
Jim Clyburn: "I don't think the American people are doing enough [to protect democracy].”
The nerve of this man to punch down at the people when he’s spent his entire career in Congress serving his corporate donors.
There is no democracy for the people to protect in the US. There is only a capitalist oligarchy that exploits us at every turn and it doesn’t need to be protected. It needs to be completely dismantled & replaced with a system that serves the people’s interests.
"Hold on. We the taxpayers are going to pay companies $900 million, which is more than 6x what we spend on wind power R&D, to NOT build wind power at a time when electricity prices are spiking and we need more clean power?" - @CostaSamaras
Thomas Massie just delivered an urgent call to action:
“Americans are under attack by a German company.”
Bayer-Monsanto.
“People this week should be calling their congressmen … and saying, take the glyphosate immunity out of the Farm Bill.”
“It’s poison.”
“This administration has sided with the German company trying to get immunity from the harm that their products may cause.”
“Chellie Pingree and I … are trying to get them to strip the immunity for glyphosate that they’ve put into the Farm Bill.”
“Bayer’s product has become unprofitable because of the harm that state juries have decided has been caused to people.”
“And there’s something broader though than just glyphosate here.”
“This would set a precedent for every pesticide, every herbicide, every insecticide.”
“It would set a precedent that the EPA doesn’t exist to protect people and the environment.”
“It exists to give get-out-of-court-free cards to corporations.”
