Dame Elaine! @elaine_paige
Many congratulations on a long overdue Damehood for Britain’s first lady of musical theatre.
Just a few of the very many memories (no pun intended…) I’ve been lucky to have with the new Dame over
@ATGTICKETS given up after nearly an hour of messing around both online and on call. I’d appreciate a customer advisor message when you’ve managed to sort your servers out.
@ATGTICKETS Got to the front of the queue, clicked on date I wanted, ‘Something gone wrong behind the scenes’ and now at the back of the queue again? This is REALLY poor service

@BenGrabham@TalkingPicsTV Sir Tommy’s archivist here - Reference from my biography of Tommy - it was shown in 1960. Have never actually seen it myself but have off-air TV audio recording of it. Where did @TalkingPicsTV show it? Sir Tommy and I would LOVE to see it - know it exists on film in ITV archive.
It was announced this morning that Mike Yarwood, impressionist and comedian, died yesterday.
Here’s @elaine_paige on his show - broadcast bizarrely on 8th September 1982 - 41 years to the day before he died!

@huwareyou Hi Huw! Glad you’re enjoying! Yes, it was recorded on 16th December 1956 at the Conway Hall in London. A concert put on especially by Decca for the recording of the album. (Page 38 of the book mentions it and the rest of the songs recorded that show that didn’t make the LP).
New addition to the collection today - and not a Tommy Steele item for a change!
An original wooden knight from the 1986 London production of ‘Chess,’ saved from the floor of the stalls after Tommy K turned over the board too dramatically 36 years ago. @SirTimRice@elaine_paige
@lamarr_mark @gurja_tait Not even a year! First record, September 1956, first concert November 1956, film contract signed January 1957, filming began March 1957. Released before the year was up! “From the cradle to the shave.”
