Today the Government of Spain, with the European Investment Bank, announced a proposed financial framework to support building the Thirty Meter Telescope at the Observatorio del Roque de los Muchachos on La Palma.

An offer of this scale reflects the commitment and long-term vision of @CienciaGob, @CDTI_innovacion, @ICOgob, @EIB , and @IAC_Astrofisica. We recognize as well the longstanding support of @PresiCan for astronomy on La Palma.

The proposal now goes to TIO's Members for consideration. We appreciate Spain's confidence and the continued dedication of all our partners, and we look forward to continuing these discussions.
