When a website (computer system) asks you to prove you re human (papers please) when you do so it just redirects (waves you through) without a word of apology for confusing you with a machine.
I'm a brain surgeon, and I'm gonna show you how to operate your brain the way it's designed, to help you heal.
Let's scrub in and get it done.
(Remember- I'm not a therapist, and this is not mental health advice. I'm sharing what I've learned after overcoming PTSD from the Iraq War and the pain of losing a child. Talk to a professional provider if you're struggling)
Forgiveness Is Brain Surgery, Not Sentiment
Forgiveness gets sold as a nice feeling you’re supposed to have. It’s not a feeling. It’s a decision that performs actual surgery on the neural pathway connecting you to the person who hurt you, releasing you from carrying their offense in your own body.
Neuroscience nugget:
Chronic resentment keeps the body’s threat-response system activated: elevated cortisol, disrupted sleep, and impaired prefrontal function. But studies on forgiveness interventions show reduced physiological stress markers when people practice it.
Self-Brain Surgery Procedure: Say the sentence out loud, even if you don’t feel it yet: “I choose to forgive ___ for ___. I release this from my body.” Feelings follow decisions. Don’t wait to feel forgiving before you decide to forgive.
(Note: Forgiveness DOES NOT mean reconciliation or that you stay in a dangerous or harmful situation. It's something you do in your mind and heart)
Scripture: “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” Ephesians 4:32, NIV
This is self-brain surgery. It's hard and holy work, and I'm proud of you for showing up.
Follow me to connect neuroscience and scripture every day. Save this to help when you need to heal. Share it with a friend who's hurting.

The full version of "Hudson's Razor": Anything that is (1) presented as a global crisis (2) admitting only global solutions (3) amid suppression of dissent, is a scam.
@Travelling_Sign I would like to think that the loneliness is temporary while we disconnect from the noise and reconnect with the silence. Did I just restate what you said about solitude?
I can’t stress enough how little an idea matters compared to the agency of the people executing the idea.
I have had the privilege of knowing and sometimes even working with some of the most successful people (by various metrics).
The difference between mediocre and excellent work and outcomes is predominantly one of agency.
In practice this means: they dont wait for things to happen to them they go out and make things happen for them.
They don’t wait for someone else to do something, for someone to teach them, for someone to give them the path, etc. They just go out and find a way to do it.
I think the single biggest superpower these people have is the realization/belief that the world around them is completely mutable. Most everything that happens is because a person made it happen.
I used to tell people to look around the room you’re sitting in. Look at everything. Every noun. It almost all exists because a person willed it into existence. Nothing is stopping you from doing the same.
I see people online all the time dismissing someone else’s success because “I had that idea first” or whatever. I mean… yeah? If so then the difference is… you. So a bit of a self own whenever I hear that.
Number one tip: act with agency.
@EMBurlingame Not surprising. Predictable and expected outcome. Tyranny personified, I mean digitised. If only it was a sign of that world with its many dysfunctions, collapsing, imploding on itself, letting us know to move on and build a local first life.
@realMrLaminar@mikehostetler I wonder if effect systems/libraries like TS Effect would be even more amenable to agentic generation as it would offer a higher abstraction with composible discipline through types. Maybe that's too much.
