@GBHockeyFuture I’m taking the view that, in the long term, this will be good for GB. The core of the team is much too old for one thing. For another the team needs to rebuild based on a more sensible international philosophy. Retain the puck. Play a system. Understand individual responsibility.

@caitlinsports It’s part of a wider problem with making low percentage plays. A similar thing applies to cheaply giving possession by dumping the puck. GB needs to get so much better at managing their possession.

@HuishGregg @bonj3 Having more Brits doesn’t increase the quality of the Brits, it reduces the quality of the league. The problem with GB is one of playing identity. They have to play better systems and learn how to retain possession instead of giving it up cheaply.

@hockeysteve8719 @bruleursdeloups There was involvement in the continental cup way before 2022. In 1998, before the split off of the CHL Cardiff hosted a qualifying group. In 1991 the devils were the first British team to win a match in the Europa cup and in 1994 the first to qualify for the semis.

Add to that first British team to win a match (1990) and beating Sokol Kiev and torpedo ust ksmenogorsk (1993) with a team of mainly Brits. It’s quite the legacy. Good luck tonight.

@tanyareid107 @cardiffdevils The lines I noted were as follows: 1st: 88,89,86,44,2 2nd: 20,92,23,17,27 3rd: 22,5,16,41,60 4th: 79, 77, 13. The defence rotated. There weren’t any game sheets distributed in place of programmes.
