@7AFL@kanecornes Parish an AA in 5th season. Ridley close but now gone backwards.
Shiel arrives as AA and leaves as a reserves player.
For me, the issue hasn’t been selecting the right players, it’s been developing them. Some of these same players have succeeded/improved at other clubs.
@7AFL@kanecornes Unpopular opinion, but I don’t think recruiting has been a problem. It’s development.
Essendon drafted D’Ambrossio and Voss. Also drafted Draper who is now on big $ at Brisbane. McGrath was a rising star in his first year. Cox was in the top 3 first year players.
@FOXFOOTY Players are delusional ……if they want to follow overseas models then they’d be happy to be traded whilst under contract by the club to the buyer of the clubs choice…..
@Bombers_Boss@SENBreakfast What gets neglected in that argument is that Essendon didn’t set out to have a strong draft hand in the 2020 draft. It was thrust upon them with the departure of Daniher a father/son who they were desperate to keep) and Saad (whose departure came out of left-field).
@gusbuster40@absoessendon 100% agree. Dodoro is an easy target in my opinion. I think the team have generally recruited and traded well.
If you want to sack Dodoro - fine. But that won’t change the result or kicking 1.9 in the last quarter.
D’Ambrossio is going ok at the Hawks.
