Hey @MBTA, it’s a really bad look to close your doors in a pregnant woman’s face while she is pushing a toddler in a stroller, notice that she’s there, ignore her, and drive off. Beyond disrespectful and rude.
@MBTA I’m 30 weeks pregnant and wanted to get my toddler home for her snack. Having the doors close in my face and then needing to wait about 10min for another train wasn’t exactly a pleasant experience.
@MBTA Happened right before I sent the tweet at Coolidge Corner. Train showed up and I started to walk towards the back door b/c I had my toddler in a stroller. As soon as we got there the door it shut. I waved my arms and according to others on the platform he saw me but still left
Fighting Resumes
Two words, and so many emotions inside. Suddenly, out of the silence, all hopes explode in an instant.
Two words, but for the hostages inside, they mean explosions and noises that bring back the fear of dying.
I remember how, in November '23, we heard the word hudna—a ceasefire—for the first time. And suddenly, we started seeing things move, people being released. Every day that passed, the terrorists looked at me and said, "Tomorrow, you'll go home."
Every day, I held on to that hope. I told myself there was no way I wouldn’t make it out alive. But then, in a single moment, we started hearing the explosions again.
Suddenly, all the dreams of going home, of hugging family and friends—shattered in an instant. The thought of seeing the light again felt so far away.
One moment, the ceasefire was gone, and with it, the hope that I would get out of there alive.
I’m sorry, Avinatan. I’m sorry that for 529 days, you haven’t seen daylight. I’m sorry that you were left behind.
We must save them!
Too many hostages who were taken alive—were murdered in captivity.
We must save every living soul! This is our mission.
We cannot leave them behind.
The identification may take 6–24 hours.
If Kfir Bibas is in one of the coffins, his identification could be difficult. Forensic scientists use dental records, but Kfir had none.
His teeth never had the chance to grow in. He was just a sweet baby.
My heart is shattered 💔
Three-year-old Almog met his father, Or, for the first time after 491 days in Hamas captivity. Or’s brother recalls:
Almog said to his father, “Dad, you were gone for a long time.”
Or responded, “That’s right.”
“Dad, you look different today.”
Or replied, “That’s right.”
Then Almog asked, “Why didn’t Mom return?”
It was unbearable for Or—he cried.
And then Almog said, “Mom is dead. She won’t come back.”
Somehow, Almog had already begun to process the trauma of losing his mother, while Or hadn’t. Now, Almog will be the one helping his father through his grief.
They spent a few hours together, lying in bed, hugging. Almog gave Or food that he wasn’t supposed to eat during his recovery, but Or couldn’t bring himself to say no to his son—so he ate it.
Despite their long separation, their bond was instant. It was remarkable, considering that Almog was just a baby when Or was kidnapped.
In the morning, Almog woke up and said, “I’m so happy that Dad came back.” He hadn’t yet slept beside his father, so he asked to record a video of him and then said, “Dad, I really, really love you. I’m so happy you’re back!”
For the past 16 months, the family told Almog that his father was away in a place he couldn’t return from yet, along with others who had been taken.
On Friday, we told him, “It’s Dad’s time to come back. Dad is coming home!”
Statement from the Bibas Family:
“Our Yarden is set to return tomorrow and we are all so excited, but Shiri and the children have not yet returned. The emotions are mixed, and we are facing very complex days.
Please protect Yarden’s heart, and respect his privacy and that of his family in the forthcoming period. We love you, dear people of Israel and our amazing supporters from all over the world.”
I can't believe I have to say this: Holocaust Memorial Day is about the Holocaust.
Stop universalizing the Holocaust. Stop minimizing the horrors of the Holocaust. Stop weaponizing the Holocaust for your political agenda. Stop speaking over Jews.
It's that simple.
Tomorrow we are supposed to find out if Shiri and her little boys are still alive.
Hamas is supposed to provide a list of the condition of the hostages listed to be released in phase one and all three are on the list.
There’s a lot of attention being paid to the hostages, and rightfully so.
There’s a lot of attention being paid to the number of prisoners Israel is releasing.
There is zero attention being paid to the families whose lives these “Prisoners” ruined.
Let’s not forget who these people are. They are murderers who destroyed families.
This is my brother’s murderer. Pure evil.
My brother was grocery shopping. This monster came from behind and stabbed him in his neck.
Ari chased him down and shot him, injuring him as he was about to murder his next victim, a woman named Hila. Then Ari died.
And this is my brother’s son at his dad’s funeral.
These aren’t prisoners being released. These are monsters.
A Jewish girls’ school has been shot at for the 3rd time this year. It is not even the only Jewish school in Canada that has been shot at.
Will Canada admit there is a problem, or will they take the Irish route, and tell Jews we're malicious liars when we say we're afraid?
If you condemn school bombings in Gaza but justify the Houthi missile on an Israeli school, you might be biased—and perhaps even a touch antisemitic.
Israeli and Palestinian children’s lives are equally precious.
Both deserve safety, peace & schools free from missiles or Hamas.
If you called for a ceasefire on Ramadan, but were silent about the hundreds of Hezbollah rockets shot at Israeli civilians on Rosh Hashanah, you might just be an antisemite.
“If you come, we will massacre you like in Munich”
Bella Hadid’s Adidas add was a dog whistle.
Now Israeli athletes are getting credible death threats.
"The People's Defense Organization announces that it intends to harm any Israeli presence at the Olympics… The Jewish lobby that controls the French Parliament will not determine anything anymore.”
Numerous Israeli athletes have received letters warning them that if they attend the Paris Olympics "We will massacre you like in Munich."
How absolutely despicable that, while the world is debating if Israeli athletes are worthy of competing, they are receiving death threats that we know from experience are valid.
Is anyone going to speak up about this?
The hard truth is that how you talk about Israel affects Jews everywhere.
It impacts whether our homes are broken into, rabbis murdered, synagogues destroyed, and communities are safe.
You have freedom of speech, but we don't have freedom of the violence your words incite.
