Animals are good at hiding along roadsides, and they can decide to cross at any time.
The best way to avoid injuring wildlife is to drive slowly and scan the road and roadsides as you drive.

Don’t rock the boat! Though the lakes may look inviting, water temperatures are still chilly. If you're planning on going for a swim, limit your exposure to cold water.

The eastern mole plays an important role in aerating forest soils. They expose deep layers of soil to oxygen by burrowing in the ground. The process allows water to filter through the soil, adding minerals and nutrients plants need to grow and thrive.

Dogs love Sleeping Bear Dunes, but nesting piping plovers need extra space. Please keep pups leashed and off closed beaches so these tiny, endangered birds can safely nest. Thanks for protecting wildlife while enjoying the park.

"Peent! Peent!"
You may hear this sound in the spring woods. The male American woodcock sky dance is one early sign of spring. The bird launches into the air, spirals upward in circles, and then drifts back toward the ground in a zig‑zag.
