Who at Apple was like ‘you know we should make the new iPhone photos app super confusing and random because now it’s too straightforward and easy to use, let’s make it feel like you’ve had a stroke every time you want to find something!’
Who was that?
My experience is they think they want it and then if u say yes they get driven insane. Mostly sees like a byproduct of short term lust
That said i am like u where I don't experience jealousy so poly is sort of a non issue for me, but especially after kids my conception of sex completely changed and and then it dramatically changed when I started finally meaningfully intellectually engaging with the concept of God and then it ESPECIALLY changed after I experienced true love. Children and sex in the context of like actual true love made me realize sex is inextricably linked to the divine and I can't see it any other way now (this also counter intuitively makes sex infinitely better where normal sex now seems almost silly and pedestrian and i can hardly think to call it by the same name as divine union on every level which basically feels like touching god and being the vessel for gods greatest miracle - which is creating life. I know this sounds insane - and when I say god I don't think it needs to be in the context of established religion btw. Also just modelling stable family behavior for the kids because I want them to have a stable traditional model for love because the culture makes that hard rn even if they choose a different life later.
But counter intuitively I think a lot of men deeply inherently naturally feel this way actually - they just get lustful urges but they're actually rly sentimental i find.
as the world around me feels eaten by pathological abundance and infinite choice and every part of the culture degrades loyalty and family in exchange for consumption, I'm finding the great joy in my life is getting rid of all my clothes, eating like a monk and showing reverence to every facet of life by maxxing on the best things in it and discarding everything else and I suspect this is what fuels all this manosphere monk suffering trendiness
The main thing I liked about being poly is it really deepened friendships for me. Men seem to mostly just want sex then feel disturbed if ur having lik deep relationship with others
But as I've gotten older and more confident I find I can get that without sex and I can trip out without drugs and actually if you work harder for the deeper possible connection to any given thing- the act of effort in and of itself makes all these things even more meaningful and profound and enjoyable.
If my person required novelty that wouldn't super bother me but LOL ive noticed it can bother them.
We don't train or learn how to be in relationships and I think when u figure it out then u can easily be poly or easily not be poly but the friction in both types of relationships seems to come from people not yet knowing how to be in relationships
Like every artist I've ever met was in some point in a terrible label situation. The labels economic model is based on hits. U sign to a label because of the promise that if a song is going they can throw gasoline on it. No amount of advice seems to be able to convince enough artists to stop signing to labels cuz u rly do need to learn this first hand (even I did). But at this point it's almost like lobbying and super pacs in politics - it reduces the potential and rewards algorithmically safe music. They own huge chunks of like any distribution model - most of which are also algo based and reward sameness and frankly when I hear an artist I like followed by 40 other artists that sound just like them I start to lose interest. we've basically destroyed music journalism. And the abundance has actually sort of make everything feel less special.
The main music that can succeed is by theatre kids since they have higher pain tolerance and even exuberant joy about performing and therefore can thrive in environments like tik tok. And it is importsnt to keep space for this type of music
But man... I used to listen to so many local bands. There used to be a way more sustained amount of smaller artists. The musical middle class, as it were. This peaked during Napster era when we prob had the most meritocratic least gatekept music industry (you could be ugly too and still succeed. I miss that lol).
Now literal VC's are buying catalogues - every economic incentive in the world has lined up to actively dissuade new music and especially innovative music. The artists I currently consider the pantheon of modern innovators would have been a LOT more successful ten years ago.
It's interesting to me how undissected the economics of music are and how profoundly and negatively they are impacting music rn
This is the 16 years old joyful Nika Shakarami, who was murdered savaging by lslamic regime for protesting against lslamic regime and for women’s freedom
Her parents could only identify Nika by her birthmark.
I started this project with my friends when I was a sophomore in college, and it took 3 years and 8 months to complete. I have never worked in animation before, and I did not go to an art school.
It's possible you guys :,) #hopecore
Historic activist Claudette Colvin has passed away at the age of 86.
Colvin was just 15 when she refused to give up her seat to a white woman on a segregated bus, an act that aided the modern civil rights movement.
Erfan Soltani
Even though they are killing countless people and I'm not sure what more we can do - it seems like raising awareness about the people on death row has been very effective at saving their lives
Esp if media is willing to cover it
remember, the word "weird" comes from the old english "wyrd" which literally meant "HAVING THE POWER TO CONTROL DESTINY" --- seriously who wouldn't want to be wyrd???
Mark Ruffalo, Jean Smart, Wanda Sykes, and Natasha Lyonne wore a “Be Good” pin at the #GoldenGlobes.
