The bed simply responds with..a rather familiar snarl like noise. It seems to have a sort of..therapeutic function suddenly.
The mattress felt..out of this world, coupled with a pillow that was just to the liking.. it may not give a verbal response, though it seemed (+)

It plopped Axl down onto the mattress gently, simply staring at him.
[Machinery noises? He turns around, seeing the autonomous bed.]

[Eyes still red from crying, he tries wiping his eyes, but it's not helping.]
The heavy mechanical bed followed the time traveler...despite its hulking mass, it seemed to be rather autonomous this time around instead of being with its creator.
Still polished and clean, the bed slowly looms over Axl, now manifested in the real world.
[Backyard. Silence. He's thinking.]
