@JulianneMcC@carlibrosseau@newsobserver The Old Testament is also notably lacking in support for "white power". It does have a part where a righteous official from the African kingdom of Cush gets Israel's king to let him pull the prophet Jeremiah out of a well where he'd been unjustly left to die, and God blesses him.
@davidharsanyi There are two options. Either we can believe what the president says, in which case his refusal is grounds for removal from office, or we cannot believe he says, in which case his lack of credibility makes him unfit from office.
@senrobportman Yes. Also, both candidates should stop abusing the powers of the presidency to pressure foreign governments to interfere in an American election.
@redsteeze "Following the constitution" isn't the problem. "Doing the exact opposite of what they publicly swore to do and told us to hold them accountable for" is.

@ReaganBattalion Suppose you're a renter and your landlord uses their key to rob you. They put your stuff in an empty unit until they can fence it, but due to their poor maintenance, that unit leaks and ruins the stuff.
When the cops find it, you say "haha, they're not profiting, no harm done"?
@bryanl Same with work hours.
I heard: "We don't track hours and have no schedule".
I observed: I worked 50 hours a week, the guy next to me worked more, and my evaluation said "not enough".
I left for a place that said "40 and go home."
I like clear expectations.
@bryanl My experience: there's no such thing as unlimited vacation. If there were, you could take the job and never work a day. Clearly they will fire you for that. The question is, what's OK? To answer that, you have to anxiously watch what others do.

@RealJamesWoods We've been having dangerous outbreaks off and on for over a hundred years. "Spanish" flu, SARS, MERS, Ebola, Zika. It was a matter of time until we got a pandemic strain. Every admin has been prepared since Bush led the charge in 2005 - https://t.co/Pnu6pX8JEb
@lukejones I love many aspects of the stories - especially the bravery and self-sacrifice of the good characters - and just have to hold my nose at some parts
@lukejones Also the southern and eastern peoples are worse than the northern and western ones, and the orcs are "swarthy" and "slant eyed". Bad feeling. I googled whether tolkein was racist, and it's not as bad as I feared according to https://t.co/Pi5JOOdLl3
