It’s so interesting to me how so many men that actively cause harm to the women’s esports scene and are openly misogynistic on a regular basis suddenly care about “advocating for women” when there is a trans woman that is successful- seems to me more like an opportunity to display their transphobia.

I think open and respectful dialogue is important, but hate speech is never OK. There’s a good chance that trans women may actually experience even more adversity in gaming than cis women do. For this reason, I think it’s so important that we don’t shut down healthy and respectful conversations surrounding this topic but what I have heard and observed on social media today is simply hateful and disgusting.
