How many times can one person be dragged into maintenance litigation for the same marriage?

A husband could be facing:
Maintenance under Section 125 CrPC,
Maintenance under DV Act,
Maintenance under personal laws,
Interim maintenance applications,
Appeals and execution proceedings.

Different courts.
Different judges.
Different disclosures.
Different orders.

The result?

A man could be paying maintenance under one order while another court had no idea what had already been awarded elsewhere.

That is why the Supreme Court stepped in and issued guidelines on:
✔️ Mandatory financial disclosures
✔️ Overlapping maintenance proceedings
✔️ Interim maintenance
✔️ Enforcement of orders
✔️ Uniformity in determining maintenance

When the highest court itself acknowledges overlapping jurisdictions and conflicting maintenance orders, it is clear that the system was not as streamlined as many claim.

The judgment wasn’t created for entertainment.
