From today, July 1st, it will be a criminal offence to use, supply or possess a glue trap for use on vertebrate animals in Scotland. Offenders face a fine of up to ยฃ40,000 or up to 12 months in prison. These vile traps should be banned everywhere.
@Ocado I hope you don't mind paw prints when I return the bags next delivery. Charlie was most disheartened by the lack of ham and dreamies he decided to plant himself in the middle of the carriers instead!
@SueMoorcroft Yes. I can totally see that. I read or saw something somewhere about when they were filming The Good Life she was the only one that was greenfingered in real life but Margo was the least greenfingered.
@icod Last heat wave my boy was really off his food. This time he isn't touching lunch much but he is still going for breakfast and dinner. I'm trying mixing a soup sachet with a standard sachet for a bit more moisture content.
@catherinerusse2 Apparently there is some sort of rejig of flight paths, changing the systems they use to navigate. But I couldn't tell you any more than that. I've been on sick leave for over a month so have watched numerous YouTube plane documentaries. Developing a penchant.
@shairnn I have a soft spot for the name Blythe. Elodie is lovely name and Aveley means meadow or a clearing. We have a Florence in my family but not so old or rare. Maybe a Florrie or Freya. Virginia is an oldie. That reminds me of Zinnia in The Darling Buds of May - a rarer floral name.
Look whatโs been built in Cardiff for swifts. My niece sent me these photos and said the structure was alive with birds. Heartening to see. Itโs shaped like a swift in flight I think. Other towns have created similar swift nest sites including Exeter. Thank you for caring.
@PamAyres@silverpebble Very cool! Last time I was in Cardiff i saw magpies building a nest. I've been to the wetlands in Newport as well. And the hotel desk lady told me about an owl sanctuary place so that's on my list. I hope the swifts adopt these homes, realise they are for them!
