Your “compassion” seems reserved only for the politically useful, while innocent families like mine are left to bury the consequences of the policies you defend.

CNN endlessly platforms stories and outrage that fit a preferred political narrative and protect their team.

Meanwhile, families like mine are treated as inconvenient complications to the ideology you defend.

My 20-year-old daughter Katie Abraham is in a grave because of policies you still champion and defend, Senator Kim.
I only wish Katie was in that same detention center right now, or any detention center, instead of buried.

It is astonishing that I now have to tend to my daughter’s grave for the rest of my life while Senator Kim stands outside a detention center playing savior with CNN cameras in tow.

Katie will never need medical treatment.
Never need a doctor.
Never have children.
Never celebrate another birthday.

She was sacrificed to ideology, party loyalty, and political vanity masquerading as compassion.
