I've been testing this workflow for the past couple weeks and it’s working surprisingly well.
→ Client shares the product brief
→ We spin up an interactive AI prototype
→ Client tests it and provides feedback
→ Client can already start backend work and user testing
→ Meanwhile, we focus on proper UX, design systems, and core flows
What’s interesting is that the prototype speeds up alignment, but Figma is still where the real product thinking happens.
The prototype answers: Does this direction make sense?
Figma answers: How should this actually work/look at scale?
Right now this split has been working really well for us:
→ Interactive AI prototype = testing ideas + aligning design/dev early
→ Figma designs = UX architecture, systems, flows, and visual consistency
AI is making it easier to build fast.
The challenge now is making sure fast doesn’t become messy.
