The Surfline Forecast team consists of expert meteorologists and oceanographers that are trained to provide accurate and easy to understand surf forecasts.
This is not the kind of SSTA forecast you want to see heading into and through hurricane season. If this were to verify we would likely be looking at a hyperactive Atlantic Hurricane Season in 2024.

Aug through Feb Euro forecast had 16.6 NS. Latest has 8.5 NS meaning we would have to see 8 storms rest of this month, which isn't going to happen. Thus can consider this euro backing off their earlier forecasts.

Here we go again - is the GFS living in fantasy land? Euro showing nada. CMC has a storm near/over Yucatan. Time will tell and something to watch with a deep pool of very warm water over the Caribbean.
I mentioned in my seasonal trop video that waters would start to cool back down in the key Niño 3.4 region. Looks like we are seeing those subsurface cooler waters work to the surface keeping #LaNiña around as we start to approach peak ATL hurricane season.

Upwelling alert for south #NewJersey - water temps went from 75deg yesterday to 62deg today. The S winds yesterday were a perfect catalyst for this upwelling event. Grab some rubber if going for a #surf.
