The St Lucia Fire Service has been in existence as an entity from 1974, since separating from the Police Force. Now serving the entire island from 9 stations.

Vapour cloud explosion from a plug-in Hybrid Jeep Wrangler. The vapor cloud is produced by the battery, and it is highly toxic and explosive.

Firefighters need to recognize this and keep their distance. They can fight these fires without being on top of the vehicle. It is also imperative to be on air. The days are gone where you need to see flames or grey smoke to be on air.
