Some of the beliefs you defend as your identity were handed to you before you were old enough to question them.
Freedom begins when you finally ask whether who you’ve become is truly you - or simply who you were taught to be.
Take away your job.
Your politics.
Your religion.
Your possessions.
Your titles.
Who are you underneath all of it?
And if you strip it all back… can you still find it through all the noise?
Maybe this is be a question we should focus on.
When you’ve lived through enough disappointment, something changes.
It’s not that nothing can hurt you anymore.
It’s that you’ve learned to carry the weight differently.
You stop expecting life to be easy, but you never stop hoping it can be better.
