BREAKING: Pennsylvania's rising superstar Governor Josh Shapiro scores another massive win for democracy as his administration announces automatic voter registration when getting or renewing a driver's license in the state unless one chooses to opt out.

This is huge news for the people of Pennsylvania and Republicans are PISSED...

Under the new system, prompts will automatically appear on computer screens at driver's license centers and provide a template to register to vote. Previously, users were first asked if they were interested in registering or not — adding an extra layer of difficulty to the navigation.

Citizens will not be forced to register, but can choose to do so if they like. This will remove all of the hassle of trying to register in other ways.

Experts predict that this simple, pro-democracy initiative will increase voter registration and possibly drive up voter turnout, which could prove to be a disaster for the increasingly unpopular Republican Party.

Once again, Governor Shapiro is demonstrating what happens when we elect Democrats interested in governing instead of Republicans interested in looting our tax dollars on behalf of the rich.

The problem we have, is that our relentless quest for neutral reporting has become the secret weapon the lunatic right is counting on, to use as cover for their increasingly authoritarian narrative.

As the late great John Lewis said:

“When you see something that is not right, not fair, not just, you have to speak up. You have to say something; you have to do something.”

The mainstream media is asleep at the wheel of a vehicle that is democracy, veering across the highway towards the edge of an authoritarian cliff.

Do the owners of these news organizations seriously believe there is a place for them in Project 2025? If they do, then they are seriously misguided.

For decades, the US has said to itself ‘It’s really not as bad as it seems, good will prevail in the end, if we just play by the rules’. If they go low we go high’. As much as I love Michelle Obama, this was THE WRONG MESSAGE when dealing with pathological narcissists and political terrorists. These monsters see moral decency and integrity as weakness.

F*ck the rules, if we don’t get a grip people, IT’S OVER. Just because we THINK we are better than, what defendant Trump described as, ‘shit hole countries’ led by African military dictators, does NOT mean it will never happen in America. For God’s sake Republicans are saying it out loud.

This is life or death politics time and there is absolutely NO MARGIN FOR ERROR. We are about to face a government shutdown, an impeachment inquiry and chaos that will grind the country to a halt. They want to prove government doesn’t work, by making it not work.

My point to each and every Democrat is this. Even in this darkest of moments:

IF DEMOCRATS ALL TURN UP AT THE POLLS IN 2024, WE WIN, and we can begin to build a better tomorrow. It really is as simple as that. It’s on us to register voters motivate GenZ and dispose of this existential threat to democracy as we know it.

The next twelve months will define the future for you, your family and those dear to you. If we fail, you will not have an opportunity to fix it, because elections as we know them will no longer exist.

This may all sound apocalyptic. Be in no doubt, I don’t relish being the one to spell it out, but doubt it at your peril. To fix a problem, you first have to identify you have one. I’m here to tell you. YOU HAVE A PROBLEM which can only be fixed with a collective effort and a PASSION TO WIN.

🚨🚨HUGE WIN FOR DEMOCRACY: Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro just announced that eligible residents of the state will be automatically registered to vote when they renew their driver's license or get a new one, unless they choose to opt out.

This is a MAJOR win for democracy, a feature that has often been included in Voting Rights bills advocated by Democrats.

What's even better is that Shapiro announced it on National Voter Registration Day.

State records show that 10.3 million residents were eligible to register to vote, but only 8.7 million were actually registered. The Governor's new automatic registration initiative will help increase the number of registered voters.

"Pennsylvania is the birthplace of our democracy, and as governor, I'm committed to ensuring free and fair elections that allow every eligible voter to make their voice heard," Governor Shapiro said.

He added that residents already have to produce multiple forms of identification at the DMV to obtain their licenses, so this is just a common sense next step for democracy.

Pennslyvania Senator John Fetterman knows that House Speaker Kevin McCarthy's impeachment inquiry into Joe Biden isn't serious.

Fetterman had an epic response to a tweet by MAGA Rep. Matt Gaetz:

"The evidence against Joe Biden is overwhelming," Gaetz said without offering any evidence. Then he made fun of Senator Fetterman’s choice of wardrobe.

"Unfortunately, the United States Senate isn't a fair jury. It's full of fashion icons like John Fetterman.”

Fetterman dropped in on Twitter to tell Florida Rep. Gaetz that he should get back to work.

"Government shutdown in t-minus 16 days," Fetterman tweeted to Gaetz. "Instead of crying about how I dress, how about you get your shit together and do your job, bud?"
