The Video Game industry gradually engineered the narrative that physical games aren’t wanted, so they can take control of what you purchase and skim as much money from you as possible🚀

✅They made some physical games lacking content and require internet/download

✅They made some games release digital first and then physical later

✅They turned PC into fully digitally, and started using its numbers as an argument against physical games when there’s no other option

✅They made sure to calculate free-to-play, digital-only console games, and even DLC, MTX and key card redemption as “digital sales” to inflate statistics

✅They’re now trying to use that as a “gotcha” for ending physical game market

But we’ve seen that narrative is engineered in bad faith:

✅$4 billion to $6 billion physical game revenue and in 2025 globally

✅The music industry continues to sell vinyl records, CDs and even cassette tapes and uses them in variants to boost artist sales and chart positions

✅Film continues to be released on Blu-Ray

✅Books continue to be released in print

And that is despite the existence of the far more popular streaming/digital for film, shows, music and books

✅GOG have shown us that digital games DRM free that can be copied to discs, which Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo do not want you to have because they want you at the mercy of their licensing, accounts and service

I'm passed the Sad part now with Sony Playstation. I've decided not to buy the PS6, and will just continue to play my Physical Games backlog, on my PS5 Pro. If my Pro dies, I will just go out and buy a new PS5 Pro, even if the PS6 is out. I have no interest in a Digital Console.

Chodzi tu mianowicie o:

Czy to coś da i zadziała? Tego nie wiemy, ale jakakolwiek forma sprzeciwu wobec wrednego korpo jest zawsze na plus. Nawet jeżeli to te 10%, to zawsze warto pokazać co się myśli na ten temat.

The downgrade didn’t happen overnight🚀

✅First, the manual disappeared
✅Then the map
✅And then the disc
✅Gameplay became more passive
✅Ownership became a “license to access”
✅Second hand market is disappearing too

Somehow, the price kept going up, and the vilification of gamers as “toxic” and “entitled” became louder as gaming became less about gamers and more about the industry backpatting that is totally detached from reality and gaming audiences.

But we don’t have to be silent
You WANT their games
But they NEED your money
So put your money where your wants are respected

Your enemy is not your fellow gamer, but whoever wants the most of your money for less and less quality

🎭 Anonymous hacked PlayStation Servers and took them down in protest of Sony stating they will get rid of physical in 2028 and be digital only

This then locked out many players from their accounts and Digital Games. Many couldn’t even play the new Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls.

This once again proves how terrible Sony server security still is and how digital only future is risky with Sony.

25 days since Sony announced their draconian plan to end physical games🚀

✅Starting monopoly
✅Taking away player choice
✅Removing any sense of ownership
✅Ending trading/second hand market
✅Paving to raise prices on a whim
✅Leaving players who paid for a full purchase at the mercy of a storefront, internet connection, unreliable network functionality, licensing deals and an incompetent support team in case of hack or ban

And still no statement or acknowledgement towards the worldwide push back, and using cowardly means to demoralize and discourage valid concerns

Remember that they NEED your money
