A thought I've had for some time;

Could traditional flying saucers and other UFOs be un-manned? Not all by any means, but a good chunk of sighting could be semi-sentient "drones."

Imagine if you will; A civilization with high technology that has difficulty traversing space for whatever reason, perhaps due to complications with their bodies in deep space flight.

Like the Trisolarans in 'Three Body Problem,' this hypothetical society would have advanced materials sciences with capabilities far beyond our own, including the ability to stabilize wormholes so long as an aperture exists on both ends.

The craft they send out serve as the other end of a mobile 'Stargate' system which can be controlled remotely through Quantum Extangled FTL communication. As soon as the vessel arrives in a system, the controllers are able to open a portal to their labs back home and bring materials through for study, including live specimens.

The cold, 'alien' environments detailed in Abduction cases may not be on a physical ship, and these people could have been whisked away to another world. We wouldn't be able to make the distinction in any reasonable way.

On a similar note, the 'Greys' are often described as Avatar-like biomechanical constructs that are used as disposable vessels for their creators. A ship could be loaded with programmable lifeforms capable of surviving in a wide variety of environments, including the vacuum of space.

I've heard mention over the years that some of these 'Greys' have anatomy that makes no sense. Unconnected organs with an esophagus that terminates halfway through the chest being one example. One encounter I recall included a man who stabbed a Grey in the neck and it turned into a pool of liquid. 😲 These 'beings' could be 'printed' on demand after collecting enough biological material in a foreign environment.

Something worth contemplation, at the least. Thoughts are appreciated, always.
