Last month, the League’s Shield Services team hosted its annual Defensive Driving Slower is Faster training with the @HillsboroughGov. Law enforcement officers from across the state participated in two days of classroom instruction and hands-on, behind-the-wheel training.

The Fairview Youth in Action program interns completed this rain garden at the Dorothy N. Johnson Community Center. The rain garden will collect stormwater runoff from the parking lot and help reduce stormwater pollution while adding beauty to the center's landscaping.

Equipment Operator I Cameron Cunningham, Crew Leader Jacob Goode, Equipment Operator II Walson Williams and Equipment Operator II Daniel Hunt recently replaced two failing catching basin inlets on Summit Drive. The work was a new challenge for the crew and saved the town money.
The UNC MPA Students from LDD’s PUBA 723 class were phenomenal in how they handled complex HR situations! Our future is in good hands with such impressive leaders heading into the public administration world! Plus, it was a lot of fun!!
The students were tasked with making decisions in HR scenarios. Judges were Katherine Cathey, Bob Hornik, & Jen Della Valle. First place LeBon Hobayan, Angel Padilla, Colin Fox, & Brianna Beadle. Second place Keegan Huynh, Hallie Springer, Skye Allan, & Richard Livingston.
