@David_LaTorre Agreed completely. I think NIL still could be used without having to “compete” with schools fundraising in SFUs case and thinking that the opportunities were there. Also fear that if some alumni were supportive of NIL, then the school indirectly misses out on these funds.
Genuine question: why do we more schools pursuing the D1 level given the NIL landscape compared to schools leaving D1? In my opinion, this just goes to show that SFUs transition to D3 is not an athletics problems
Thanks Scott! People need to know that you and your NIL group never got the chance because this was a pre-planned move by the TORs! @John_Fanta please share this! It might save other small D1s from suffering our fate. Asking you as a favor for a fellow @SIHSCleveland alum! AMDG
Rob Krimmel led Saint Francis, his alma mater, to its first-ever NCAA Tournament just nine days go.
He suddenly retired on Thursday after the university revealed its demotion via email.

As a proud Saint Francis alum and former men’s basketball player, I’m heartbroken and disappointed in the decision by President Malachi and the Board to walk away from Division I athletics. It’s not just a step back—it’s a rejection of everything so many of us have worked for.
Thank you, Coach Krim.
You didn’t just teach me how to play—you taught me how to lead, how to grow, and how to become a man.
You changed lives. You changed mine.
Enjoy retirement—you’ve earned every bit of it. #ThankYouCoachKrim#RedFlash

@HotseatHour@nonprolixben Again, I’m against it for multiple reasons and believe this doesn’t help the school in the long run. Given the inability to adapt to change I think started putting SFU behind the 8 ball and could never catch up. Hate to see it, but like I said not surprised and will see this more
When myself and other alums present a NIL collective, and the school admin make 0 effort to adapt and accept changes, this news is not surprising. Also when the school is dominated by student athletes, how do they think this transition will lead to more money/opportunities.
NEWS: Saint Francis will move from Division 1 to Division 3, the school announced.
The Red Flash fell to Alabama State in the NCAA Tournament last week.

@Whatifs14405252 @FydSports Box it doesn’t fit into because the school doesn’t want to adapt to times. Look at other schools in the NEC. How are schools that are in the NEC able to stay afloat, better yet, how are schools able to transition into Division 1 from Division 2? Times change and so should mindset
@Whatifs14405252 @FydSports Meaning this in the upmost respect, but a jump to D3 from NAIA vs Division 1 is not comparable. Two completely different landscapes. Overall athletic prestige, competition, and national exposure differs tremendously.
