@MikeLuci27@TalkinYanks I'm with you. Volpe has to be better more consistently. But the amount of shade thrown at Volpe from one specific person almost seems personal. That's my opinion after listening to every TY episode. You can even hear Jake try to walk back Jim's comments sometimes.
@TalkinJake If he gives up a run they're in deep trouble. If he doesn't go 7 they're in deep trouble. Those are both big asks. They're in deep trouble.
@xFloridaMan@TalkinYanks Yeah if you take out the bad stretch where he had the yips, he's not the worst defensive ss in the league. I mean argue his gold glove, sure, but that's not just picked from a lottery or something. There's at least SOME merit there.
@isvolpegoneyet@TalkinYanks T.Y. didn't ask the fans to hate him. But they followed their lead. That's my opinion. Again, not defending his play. But the piling on a kid trying to come back from injury is ridiculous. He's still an 8+ WAR player over 3 seasons. If the season goes belly up, its the bullpen.
@xFloridaMan@TalkinYanks If youve been following along for a while, you'd know how they talk about him, and the fan base followed suit, and now it's turned into the fan base piling on a kid trying to come back from an injury.
@makatron@TalkinYanks That's not true. He had a spell last year where he had the yips, yes. But Jimmy and Talkin Yanks had turned on him well before that. And that's fine to not like him. But it's the piling on by both Try and the fan ase that I think is unwarranted.
@YanksAficionado@TalkinYanks I'm not defending his play or saying he should start going forward. What I am saying is the way people pile on is extremely unwarranted. He does have an 8.4 WAR in 3 years, and even if you don't like WAR, that's not a nothing stat. It's at least directionally accurate.
