the first 4s of the MV isn't reality, it's computer generated. once the door is kicked in it swaps back to reality. i wanted the video to capture what we were experiencing. the animations you see were characters i doodled the same day. the backrooms brought them to life

we discovered the backrooms - a nearly abandoned subterranean dead mall with only a single surviving store, a small korean mart that still has VHS rentals and posters from the early 90s. we found this place from a reddit post with 40 upvotes
