Next hiking day is Friday, and I've booked trains to do the Windermere > Kendal @SlowWaysUK.
Got so much time between my trains, if I end the first one at a good time, may try one of the Levens > Kendal ones too.
More @SlowWaysUK walks today!
SanWin One (Sandiway > Winsford) starts well, but halfway in becomes a disaster: bridlepaths that vanish into hedges; stile shenanigans of all colours (wobbly, broken, missing), and a very navigational wobbles. Shame, as it looks good on the map!
Off work for a week, so actually going to get some walking done!
Walking from Warrington to Northwich tomorrow to check some @SlowWaysUK, and got more planned, weather-permitting!
Finally getting my walking year underway now by knee/toe combo have healed!
@SlowWaysUK I worked out a route that follows the Wainwright one as closely as possible, from Whitehaven, Cumbria to Robin Hood's Bay, Yorkshire.

@SlowWaysUK Walk and snail as many as I can; beat last year's total; do a fair few #busandback routes; and try to start the Slow Ways Coast To Coast challenge.
Looking forward to a big year of exploring, expanding and strengthening the @SlowWaysUK walking network + a new project that's even bigger!
Kicked off with a NY hike from #Paignton to friends in #Totnes.

Quick round-up of 2025.
448 miles walked over 36 days. Just the six history walks (4 in three days!), but also 7 stages of the @GmRingway; a two day travel writing experiment; and 44 @SlowWaysUK.
Less than last year, that injury in the Summer making all the difference!
Bright and early (and frosty!) start to the day to do two versions of a Lancashire @SlowWaysUK, my last of 2025.
Best get cracking before the trains get weird for New Year!
