The Sri Lanka Red Cross Society, with the support of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), conducted a special dissemination programme at the Sri Lanka Red Cross Society - Kalutara Branch, bringing together a diverse group of participants including Public Health Inspectors (PHIs), Disaster Management Centre (DMC) officials, schoolchildren, and community members.
The programme aimed to strengthen awareness and understanding of humanitarian principles, as well as the mandate and role of the Red Cross Movement through interactive discussions and knowledge-sharing sessions.
With support from the Disaster Relief Fund of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the @HongKongRedCros , the Sri Lanka Red Cross Society continues to provide school packs to children affected by Cyclonic Storm Ditwah. ❤️

he Sri Lanka Red Cross Society - Ratnapura Branch provided school packs to children affected by Cyclonic Storm Ditwah, helping them return to learning with confidence, and hope, while easing the burden on families striving to support their children’s education.
With the support of the Disaster Relief Fund of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the @HongKongRedCros , the @SLRedCross continues to provide essential educational support to children across affected districts.
The @SLRedCross concluded a three-day Camp Management Training programme for dedicated volunteers of the Sri Lanka Red Cross Society - Colombo Branch, with funding support from the Emergency Preparedness and Response (EPR) programme of the @ICRC.
The training strengthened participants’ knowledge and practical skills in managing temporary shelters during emergencies, covering key areas such as Camp Coordination and Management, site planning, safety, protection, and safeguarding the dignity and well-being of displaced communities.
Through both theoretical and Practical simulation sessions, volunteers gained experience to support more effective and confident humanitarian response during emergencies.
