@RHughesPhD76721 I grieve with you, Robert, on the national level and personally. I’m in a close knit group of 8 women, 6 of whom are not at all the people I thought they were. It breaks my heart that they still support maga. I still ❤️ them, but I grieve my loss of faith in them! So sad.
I had to leave society and get away from the noise of the world to seek emotional shelter quietly. I had to enter into a space where I could grasp an understanding of my grief. Without understanding I have no direction. The conclusion of what I am writing here has finally given me the insight of what propels this grief. First, what is the loss? I am 69 years old. Beginning when I was 68 my disbelief commenced transforming me to an unwilling participant witnessing the unveiling of a horizon immersing itself leading to a place completely foreign to me. Foreign, yet I did not remove myself. I exist as always. Bit by bit similar to a small cancerous tumor that metastasizes throughout the body taking the stake of all parts created equal, what I have known for 68 years is gone. The United States underwent surgery and incompetence with malpractice has disabled us. The United States is gone. We are a land upon which I myself am lost. I have always understood logic, truth and morality. I was influenced to believe for 68 years that this is what unified the United States citizens. Our common ground was morality. Certainly more noticeable in the 60s, 70s and 80s…when there were structured family units. We did not have numerous children raising children and women referring to their momentary partners as their babies daddy. Progressively through moral decay there is something new about the stain upon all nations courtesy of the United States offending everyone with equal approach. This past Tuesday I landed on my sixth year of living with brain cancer. I have seen death and dying. Too much. And now 1,800 cancer clinical trials have come to a halt because a man in power wants to save money rather than save lives. A woman at a rally was shot and killed while a monster of a human being triumphantly said “fucking bitch, ” as if he were a hunter in sport. Renee Goode bled from her ears on national news. Millions have lost Medicaid. Senior citizens are going without medication and without food. The inner city black community has an absence of access to medical care and we have a vice president who says that our hospitals are strained by immigrants who sit in emergency rooms taking up the chairs that the rest of us could be sitting on. None of this news anymore. But here is my insight. This is what I came to realize. My grief is not because of evil. I have always understood its presence. New is the millions and millions and millions and millions who approve of everything I just said. I live in a country that rousingly approves of evil. Let that sink in. Renee Goode protested to save the lives of others. Her death was approved and exuberantly cheered by some because she was blocking customs enforcement. I live in a country that approves of evil because of an allegiance to a man. They twist the evil to conform to their own selfish desires. 3 weeks ago in New Jersey three little children were torn out of the arms of their mother. 8-year-olds standing there pulling on the arms of an ICE agent while their mother was forcefully removed from their lives permanently. People approved because she shouldn't have come here illegally. Without thought for the suffering of the children all that mattered was that the racist ratio swings in favor of a white populace. I have been a Christian all my life. I have never witnessed the level of antichrist that has unmasked itself the last two years. The antichrist somehow has become a notion that it's one person. Who is the Antichrist? That is not true. Many can be anti-anything. Plural. Grouping. Cultic allegiance. I live in a country that approves of evil while the cheerleaders paint immoral brushstrokes over the Bill of Rights. Now exists a Bill of Marginalization. Witnessing the enthusiastic approval of Evil is my greatest loss. I grieve.
