@MrsHJT_ Journeys would give you lots of cross curricula ideas. Geography - tourism impacts etc, RE - journey of life routes if passage or pilgrimage, History - great journeys, science/technology the science of transport, music - journey through composition.
@HelpATeacher We also need to help them in understanding and acknowledging theirs and others feeling that come as a consequence of behaviours. A key part of responsibility is self awareness and empathy. This in turn helps build resilience
@Harritage There's lots of possibilities. Had to get themselves to school, missed the bus, had to look after a family member that morning, fallen out with friend. Asking questions about needs is so important
@EllieD62 @teachwellall Why wouldn't they be back the next day? If a child is removed from 1 lesson surely that shouldn't mean removal permanently. I agree there are times when a child needs to be moved for a lesson. My key concern then is getting the child back in and rebuilding the relationship
Why do we think this is accept to do to our peers? The success of children in our schools is dependent on whether the staff around them can be successful. Success doesn't come from criticism, brow bearing and condemnation. When will HMI fill the cup of adults rather than destroy
I'm saddened to think we've not found a way of making change and ensure quality that doesn't include complete disregard for the wellbeing of the adults in the process. We wouldn't expect children to be treated the way staff are currently treated by the inspectorate.
@Headteacherchat Do you think the academic struggle is the root cause of the behaviour? Are there any other common denominators with the behaviour? Time of the day? Relationship breakdown? Attention seeking?
@Headteacherchat I have some perfect pj's and a crown for where the wild things are. Though I have also been in the past Effie Trinket, one of the 3 little pigs and Moses complete with staff and tablet (IPad) of stone
