When dystopia is closer to reality .... everything about this is a must read!

"When we passed a brand new Build-A-Gun Workshop in the mall I begged Mom to let me return the daisy pistol and build a custom gun instead and she said no."

Issue 23 #Fiction Spotlight: "Federal School Safety Act 2029" by Sage Tyrtle

"Jagger pointed his gun at the floor and hung his head. 'Sorry,' he said. 'I forgot.'”

When was the last time that you told an author or a writer that you loved their work?

[Suzann Mackin Cohen @smackincohen]

Do you tag authors on inst or other socials when calling out amazing lines of their book?

[Suzann Mackin Cohen @smackincohen]

@Madiii03 Yes very real. Good to have supportive people around & use self care (sleep exercise) fight urge to drown in alcohol, sugar, & negative Twitter feeds😂. Scream into pillow, hit a punching bag - real one not the person that’s your default punching bag - personal experience here.

[Francesca Leader @mooninabucket]

Wow. From submission to rejection in just 5 minutes.

Is this what it feels like to chat up a gorgeous woman at a bar, only to watch her put out her cigarette in your drink and walk away?😅

@TheWritingRuss Yes I think the characters are slightly younger but content appropriate - I’m going to send you my annotation has a good summary

Oh my god.

Missouri AG just essentially banned gender affirming care for most trans adults via emergency rule.

Requires 3 years of dysphoria, 18 months of therapy sessions, doesn't allow people with autism/depression.

This is what elimination of transgender people looks like.

Question for writers! what the hell is wrong with you?

[Suzann Mackin Cohen @smackincohen]

@DianeGotAuthor Love this!

[Suzann Mackin Cohen @smackincohen]

@ceciliaclyra Opening paragraph - was wandering B&N reading opening lines and wow. A Tiny Upward Shove, Melissa Chadburn.

[Suzann Mackin Cohen @smackincohen]

Why doesn’t everyone submit in Times New Roman 12 pt double space - am I missing something? (Not talking about when the form is part of the work, talking straight prose)

[Suzann Mackin Cohen @smackincohen]

@gaylebrandeis Excited for this!!

[Suzann Mackin Cohen @smackincohen]

@Morgan_J_Talty @bookcritics Currently reading! Congrats
