This person just signed away a beautiful cryptopunk to a phishing scam, simply because they weren't paying attention.
Here are the simple steps that anybody can take to prevent this happening to them:
No matter how careful you are, there will come a time when you are caught with your guard down. Tired, drunk, high, hungry, in a hurry...these are all scenarios in which your judgement is impaired.
Your job as your present, fully alert self is to set up protections so that your future impaired self can't make these mistakes.
Store valuable assets on a hardware wallet. Ledger is the most popular, but a trezor, grid+, or keystone are also great. I have a keystone being delivered soon, I'll write a bit about it once I've had a chance to play around.
Use extensions designed to protect you. In no particular order:
✅ @wallet_guard
✅ @PocketUniverseZ
✅ @_joinfire
These will simulate your transactions and warn you about malicious consequences before you sign anything.
Use more user friendly wallet options. Metamask is great, but they've fallen behind. Try out one of the alternatives:
✅ @0xFrame
✅ @Rabby_io
Keep your valuable assets in a wallet separate from your other wallets. Don't interact with anything from this wallet. My vault is loaded up on a ledger that I only touch for very specific reasons. If I happen to get phished, it will be from a wallet that holds next to nothing.
Take these steps now so that you can breathe easy later.
Retweet for awareness.
@WallStreetSilv Why is everyone so animated about cellular agriculture (aka lab-grown meat)? So many things are grown in labs by growing cellular organisms. How do you think you make beer & bourbon, or the yeast needed to ferment it, or even the antibotics for your cows & chickens you eat?
@mjkabir@WallStreetSilv Small clarification: Impossible Burger isn't labgrown meat. It is a meatfree substitute made from processed soy beans, vegetable proteins and oils.
@hummingbbakery It’s such a bad service. Avoid. You need to wait in for 8 hours on the day (they don’t tell you am or pm) and the delivery man just refused to come back today and then hung up on me. I found myself negotiating with the delivery guy. Awful

Remember 10 days ago when people said I was crazy to think it was a central bank crisis?
Well, it's a central bank crisis.
This had nothing to do with tech.
Fed mismanagement crashed the system.
And now they're going to print trillions.
A stealth devaluation of the dollar.
Need a recap of this bonkers place? Watch this and sing along.🎶
Oh, and if you're asking yourself why that voice sounds familiar... it's because @songadaymann did our jingle!🎧
