Earlier this year, I worked with @CityCristinaH - directing her investigative doc on sex trafficking in Ontario. The warrior women she profiles in this doc are unforgettable. Please watch. I can guarantee you - this is happening in your city.
Tonight! 10 pm. CityTv (9 pm in AB)
As part of our work at Bellingcat we've written guides about dealing with traumatic imagery. The first is How to Prevent, Identify and Address Vicarious Trauma — While Conducting Open Source Investigations in the Middle East by @h_e_ellis https://t.co/OEUdB7QAOd
On Prime, doc must see. When I heard their voices, I realized how deeply I missed Mr Dressup, Casey, Finnegan. They made a safe, magical place for kids who felt loneliness. Mr Dressup lives in our hearts indeed. Thank you Ernie & Judith, fam & filmmakers. https://t.co/qksVnHqlzi
Tony Scott's Marlboro ad (2003) experimented with analog film techniques like: hand-cranking, timelapse, cross-processing, bleach bypass, double exposure, light leaks and infrared photography. All of these practical, in camera effects were used in MAN ON FIRE (2004) a year later.
@carolinerenard_ That film was not an act of protest - it was an act of despair. Just my opinion - Christ what a painful watch
(aside from the brilliant performances of course)
If this piece was intended to create sympathy for “That is not happening” Carol and her ilk, it didn’t. The condescension is strong here and studios come across as imperialists blinkered to the damage created by their stance.
