@NedStanley @RussInCheshire As it's about UK schools, public schools in the UK are private fee paying schools. Just because they are expensive, doesn't make the students any better at math, the current UK government demonstrates that regularly.

@VikkiSlade72 As a self employed person, what? That makes zero sense. These people can't do basic mathematics or economics. I keep up with paying NI, even filling in student and maternity gaps, because I'm disabled and might need to rely on it in the future. These people are idiots.

@Peston I'm pretty sure it's exactly what many of us feared and loudly vocalised at the time, especially those with disabilities. I've lost three friends to this. All CEV. Apparently expendable. That journalists chose to ignore us and instead be hoodwinked, is also incompetence.

@divisionbyzero I was referring to both, delivery drivers are technically your waiter, just on wheels. Quantity of orders is what matters if you are working for tips. You are basically relying on the kindness of strangers for income, 75% will be stingy, 24% pay the exact amount, 1% generous.

@divisionbyzero But the whole tipping thing confuses me, I'm British, we just pay our staff properly and they don't need to rely on tips to exist.

But in terms of that example, if the staff are paid the same rate have to rely on tips, then the person in the steak place has a few customers vs mcDs hundreds. If the tip is£1 flat rate then steak gets £4 per hour, mcds £50.

@simonharris_mbd My visually impaired friend is in that situation too. She was told she could do it online. Except she doesn't use a computer for the same reason she can't use a ticket machine. And obviously then she has to navigate a barrier, in an unmanned station.
