I know it sounds dystopian, but I'd rather have an AI than vast majority of our politicians... and I'd rather we had an AI than "jury of peers." It would be interesting if instead of voting of a congressperson, we vote on how the model is prompted... representative open weight democracy lol

@JosephJacks_ Nurses, pilots, air-traffic controllers, electrical engineering, music education/performance... it depends on what you want to do. Some things still really do require in-person instruction.

More patient, I think.

When you have hours of manual work and testing ahead of you, it's hard to think big picture/strategically.

Now it's actually quite useful to stop, think, review... really focus on the details, the experience, the UX, accessibility... spend more time talking to actual people who will be using the tool.

For me at least, better.

@canadabirdie I think people would be better served by getting more acquainted with AI. The "pause" just isn't realistic for 2+ years (barring some short-term cataclysm) so this just reads to me as advocacy.

The media is a business - multiple overlapping interests playing to many overlapping markets. It's both a driver and a reflection. Trump doesn't hate the media because they lie, he's no stranger to dishonesty. He may not even "hate" them, it's a power game to him and he demands unconditional loyalty and only positive frames.

But we made that guy president knowing full-well his position on executive power. My bigger fear is that Congress won't do anything to reel in the executive, and the next president (regardless of party) will only continue its expansion.

@CtrlAltDwayne Yeah he's probably right on the money with mass audience appeal. "Muse" is probably also the first taste of a real agent for more folks... and average person wants a zero-friction product. Zuckerberg understands that.

@TokenGremlin It's jarring. I just keep forging ahead and trying to push the limits, spending evenings reading news/updates with all you fine people... then taking what I've learned and optimizing the places I care about at work/volunteering etc... what else can we do!

I could care less if AI "kills all humans".. guessing i'm one of them doomed humans..

In the meantime.. until the Galaga thingys kill me..

I need AI to help me and my public hospital facility to serve the folks who show up for medical care..

@kamilbaranek_ Worth the hype. I wasn't expecting to be surprised... then it put together a beautiful one-shot animation from a dataset I'd been working on and... it was paced well, atheistically pleasing, and *correct.* No I wasn't planning on that.
