NEW POST 🚨
In Defence of HAL: the recent angst over Tejas delays are more narrative than fact, writes @KSingh_1469 in his first column for Livefist: https://t.co/LtgOkVtZgy
Just because there are suddenly huge orders & interests in the Rafale, doesn’t mean Dassault is adding capacities.
Maybe some de-bottle-necking / adding shifts can help increase output a little bit, but they will deliver in their own sweet time.
Very easy to implement ‘advanced manufacturing’ and create capacities. But who will pay for the idle costs when the capacities are not fully utilised?
No private player will invest unless they can reasonably sweat out capacities over 8-10 years minimum!
Successive chiefs have kicked this can down the road incl the one who ordered 83 LCA Mk1A & waltzed into BJP post retirement, knowing fully well the production capability, QA/QC issues & (T0+infinity) project management of HAL. ACM AP calls it out bluntly.

Competition between HAL & private players will solve nothing unless there is a commitment of numbers.
If the IAF is serious about private players, they should issue RFQ in terms of Annual Requirement Numbers x Number of Years.
Only then can any capacity be planned.
~Logic of 3 states (अवस्था त्रय विचार)~
Longish and spontaneous ramblings.
1. Waking state (जागृत अवस्था)-
Mind (i) + waking world (the world experienced in waking state including one’s body)
2. Dream state (स्वप्नावस्था)
Mind (i) + Dream world.
3. Deep sleep (सुषुप्ति)
No Mind (i) and no world.
These 3 are experiences of everyone almost every day. Nothing is left to “belief” here.
Now let’s decipher these 3 states.
In the “so called” waking state, “i” am there and there is a world and i’s (my) transactions.
In the dream state, “i” remain but the waking world is replaced by a dream world & i’s (my) dream transactions.
In deep sleep, neither “i” remain (lost consciousness) nor the world (waking and dream).
Now let’s decipher Waking and Dream state experience.
It is observed that when waking world is present, dream world is not and when Dream world is experienced, waking world is not. However , experiencer (i) is available in both worlds doing the transactions.
Thus, the common entity in the two states is “i” (ego/mind/chitta etc) establishing the fact that both the worlds- waking and dream- can exist (experienced) only in relation to the experiencer (i).
Let’s now include the 3rd state of Deep sleep to further clarity.
In deep sleep, “i” remains (or falls) unconscious and with that there is no waking or dream world. It is blank so to say. This 3rd state of सुषुप्ति further cements our previously made inference that without “i”, worlds do not exist. I.e. “i” is the support (आधार) of creation.
Let’s now dive deep in the 3rd and the most mysterious state of Deep sleep.
It is our experience that none of the three entities remain the 3rd state of deep sleep. Neither “i” nor waking world, nor dream world.
HOWEVER, the “i” do jump back from it along with the world! (invariably the waking world).
This state provides us with the MOST important clue!
The support (आधार/अधिष्ठान) of “i” and so both the worlds is in the state of deep sleep! There is some unknown power residing in the सुषुप्ति on whose lap so to say, the exhausted “i” falls unconscious and with it, both the worlds also disappear.
The “i” gets charged from the bliss and power from the source and resumes with created world.
It is akin to a cell phone (just rough analogy). Until the battery 🔋 (i) has power, the world on the cellphone screen goes on. Once the battery is discharged, the cell phone is blank (Sushupti). Everything restarts once again once the battery is charged.
It is every one’s experience at least on some day when one has a very good (prolonged deep sleep) one feels joyful and fresh without any apparent reason. This bliss, freshness comes from the unknown source in the deep sleep which is at the foundation of ego and creation.
Although the “i” experiences pure form of the ultimate source in the deep sleep, it is not aquatinted with it’s foundational power because it is always unconscious while in deep sleep and when comes out of it, immediately starts transactions of the world sprung of from itself.
Once “i” gets acquaintance of its source even once, i.e. when “i” experiences the “source” in conscious state, it’ll not be able to look back. It’ll merge in the source completely which is like the salt doll merging in the sea without trace.
That is the MUKTI. Final liberation of the Ego life. The end of the small “i”. The merging of small “i” into the Brahmn/Atman/Shiv.
So the goal is to experience the deep sleep state (सुषुप्ति) with conscious “i”.
This will be only possible when “i” will start withdrawing from it’s creation (waking and dream worlds) and start directing its awareness back to itself. Atma Vichar.
The “i” must withdraw its “dhyan” from the world through senses and focus on itself (that is called Atma Vichar/Self inquiry).
Until the attention is towards the creation, source won’t be realized. When the source is realized, creation will disappear. When snake is visible, rope won’t be realized. When by keen focus and going near, rope is found, the snake at once disappears. Rope alone then remains.

Remembering Shri Atal Vajpayee Ji's speech in 1996. His words echoing in my years. What a clarity...
Both the Government & Opposition must listen to this 🔥🔥🔥

7. Presently, we don’t know / can’t know which is the fuel of the future - or if there is only one fuel of the future.
8. Bio-fuels / synthetic fuels / gas / H2 / EV / fossil fuels should all be given a chance subject to desirable emission standards, not taxes! 4/4
1. If the intention is pollution control, it would be logical to legislate emission standards rather than impose some arbitrary tax which would only distort incentives and the market.
2. Modern diesels - BS6 and BS6.2 standard - are way better than old diesel vehicles. 1/n
Nitin Gadkari urges manufacturers to stop production of diesel vehicles.
Also not official proposed, but Nitin Gadkari wants to propose a additional tax of 10% on diesel engine.
What are your thoughts about the future of diesel in India?
5. The ICE is far from dead and far from the limit in terms of efficiency / scope for emission controls. The possibility of synthetic fuels is also very real.
6. The automotive sector in India is world class and has the ability to innovate and find solutions. 3/n
25 years since this. As a kid just short of his 12th birthday then, the pride I felt is difficult to describe. As Dinkar wrote, magnanimity looks credible only from a position of strength. As Vivekananda said, the greatest error is to say that you are weak. We chose to be strong.
@deepakshenoy Pooled accounts - be it for cash or securities - have been fertile grounds for scams. Net net - an excellent proposal. Hope it sees light of day. Safety of assets > any incidental costs such a system might result in. India should lead the world with such innovations.
@Nithin0dha This same risk exists in the custody pool accounts for cash in case of portfolio management structures. Unfortunately, Custodians and SEBI are presently not taking any cognisance of this.
