New head groundsman looks capable. Super hard job to keep Scunnys pitch in great condition but his appointment is as important as some of the summer signings.

@Calroberts_@IrishIronSC@SUFCOfficial Itโs been a pleasure watching you perform with great commitment and passion week in week out. Thanks for your service and good luck.
@Lancsiron Hopefully the club found some money to pay for someone decent. We lost a few suitably qualified but the pay package offered was short of what the job required. Nobody should be earning minimum wage in the current climate.
@sufc_mike Not just any experienced striker but one of THE most experienced strikers. Scored 4 goals in the last 2 games this season and could have been bought in as Butlers replacement in a few years time when he has got us as high as he can.
@TheScunnyLad The leading company in the market have warned that theยฃ750k will be wasted if corners are cut again this season. The club needs to find funds to keep it maintained or for the third season running we will be back to square one in September
@TheScunnyLad Scunthorpe United have secured a grant for ยฃ750k towards the cost of the pitch but are struggling to recruit a groundsman. The salary should be north of ยฃ40k but will only pay ยฃ27k. The council have pulled out of the maintenance and removed their equipment

The Board of Scunthorpe United confirms that it will submit its financial statements for the year ended 30 June 2025 tomorrow.
The accounts show a reported loss of approximately ยฃ738,000 for the year (2024: approximately ยฃ674,000). While the headline result appears slightly worse year-on-year, the Board wishes to highlight an exceptional factor that materially affects comparability between the two periods: the 2024 reported loss was significantly supported by non-recurring donations. Adjusting for those donations, the underlying loss position in 2024 was closer to ยฃ1 million. The 2025 result also reflects legacy contracts and cost commitments honoured from the prior ownership period, which have continued to create cost drag during the transition.
The Board are encouraged by the progress made during the current financial year. The current outlook indicates a projected loss for the year ending 30 June 2026 of approximately ยฃ400,000, representing a further meaningful reduction in the annual loss position and continued improvement in the Clubโs underlying trading trajectory. This figure excludes the impact of a play-off run, which would materially improve the figure detailed.
The Board alsoย wishes toย confirm it will be holding an Annual General Meeting in April 2026. This will provide an open forum for shareholders to put questions directly to the Board, as well as to our Accountantย Markย JacksonโStapleton and Andy Butler.
Further details regarding the AGM arrangements, including date, time and venue, will be communicated in due course.
