🦟 This Thursday marks #WorldMosquitoDay!
Throughout the week, we'll be sharing mosquito facts and insights into how genetically modified mosquitoes are being developed to support #malaria control efforts in Africa.
We're also launching #VoicesFromTheLab, a new series introducing the people behind the science and highlighting their work on the project.
To kick off the campaign, can you spot the difference between a female and male Anopheles mosquito? Take a closer look at the GIF below and test your mosquito knowledge. 🦟

Long-acting injectables could provide protection from malaria for up to 6 months with a single administration.
Cristina Donini explains how it works.
Reaching zero #malaria requires continued #innovation & sustained commitment to get breakthroughs to those who need them most.
One patient. One visit. One cure.
That's the ambition behind single-dose cures for #malaria, one of the most promising innovations currently in development.
Malaria is evolving.
The response must evolve too.
Over the past 20 years, the malaria toolbox has expanded from a handful of interventions to a growing range of complementary tools helping protect communities worldwide.
Today in Tokyo, MMV, @gatesfoundation & @GHITFund hosted a Symposium on Malaria R&D. This event convened stakeholders from across the global #malaria community to spotlight Japan's contributions to R&D and strengthen the partnerships needed to move towards a malaria-free future.
We've come a long way in the fight against #malaria.
New tools are reaching communities. More than 3 million children have received a malaria vaccine dose, 250 million children have been protected through seasonal malaria chemoprevention, and 56 million next-generation mosquito nets have been deployed across Africa, strengthening one of our most effective defences against the disease.
Science is advancing faster than ever before, opening up new possibilities and bringing us closer to a future where malaria is no longer a threat.
But malaria doesn't wait, and neither can we.
Every breakthrough matters. Every child protected is a step forward. The progress we've made reminds us that, with the right tools and teamwork, ending malaria is within reach. #ZeroMalariaStartsWithMe, and together we can #EndMalaria!
