Eight scored, into the 🎩 for the quarter finals. Things to work on defensively but a good result in a local derby to steady the ship after some rocky results. Big congrats to @brownige7 & @LukeVick17 on their Vets debuts, well earned after impressing for the 1s recently 👏
The Vets get back to winning ways in a goalfest on derby day at Downlands 🤩
Despite the 8 Fatboys goals it was defensive midfielder Sam Franks who was given the MOM award for a typically robust display 💪
Best performance of the season and first defeat of the season. That's the way the cookie crumbles sometimes. Just lacking a bit of quality in the final third but lots to be pleased with. Thanks to the fans for the support, players really appreciated it 👏
A first defeat of the season for our Vets against a very impressive Jarvis Brook side, however the fronts ended a dismal run of form with an emphatic cup win 💪
Really positive start with a bare XI after four dropouts - two players were stuck in Biggleswade, one forgot it was his son's 5th birthday party and another ill. Work rate, decision making, defensive shape CLASS. Not many teams will come back from Jarvis Brook with 3 points 💪
Some very un-Fatboys like scores today with the Vets combatting 4 x dropouts to grind out a win away at Jarvis Brook with a bare XI💪
Excuse of the day goes to @AlexTWilliams_ who couldn’t play for the Res due a hair transplant in July meaning he couldn’t be in direct sunlight☀️
Game 3: @alexfair93 smashes in a 92nd minute winner as the Robins beat Herne Bay on our Isthmian League debut. It must have been good as Katie made a rare Hassocks appearance... and enjoyed it. Even though we didn't win anything in the meat raffle at the social club
The 2025-26 season might be a once in a lifetime opportunity to watch Hassocks in the Isthmian League, so I am going to document it in a thread. Which I will probably give up on before the middle of August
Game 2: Horsham (Culver Road) I think the referee heard it was a charity game to help out Horsham, rather than a charity game to help out the Sussex community. Merry Monk was a complete delight as always 🤝
Just when you think the Swiss cannot contribute another world-changing invention to humankind to top knives, cheese fondue and expensive watches, they come up with a tool which perfectly cuts the top off a can of beer #WEURO2025#innovation#Switzerland#Lionesses#Heineken
