HUGE turnout at Burnie, close to 1000!

Hands up to stick together and keep up the action until @WillHodgman listens, pays fair and accepts our solutions for good public services and quality education for all! #politas #ausunions #payfair #TassieNeedsAPayRise

What a way to start the day! Talking with CPSU members about the stop work meeting in Hobart tomorrow. These guys are fed up with the governments ultimatums and scare tactics. #tasmaniansneedapayrise

[Mel Parker @smeli_meli]

Stop Work Meetings have begun(!) because #TasmaniaNeedsAPayRise and the people who deliver services to our community will not sit back and be treated with contempt by their employer, our 'government'. https://t.co/ooDgE7j9n5 #politas

[The Community & Public Sector Union @CPSUTas]

See you there!
Members stop work because:
• This has gone on for too long
• They are tired of being disrespected & undervalued
• Wage rises should keep pace with inflation
• Tasmanians earn $200 per week less than other Australians #politas #payfair #TassieNeedsAPayRise

Premier announces school closures prior 2 meeting unions 2 engage in bargaining. Attends without putting an offer 2 his employees, which could've prevented school closures if he had respect for his employees and the services they deliver. Premier fails to understand IR #politas

[ABC Hobart @abchobart]

More than 130 Tasmanian schools will partially close next week as teachers walk off for stop-work meetings over the state's long-running public sector pay dispute. https://t.co/lWJ24NjQ3T

bargaining [noun]:
discussions between people in order to reach agreement on something such as prices, wages, working conditions, etc. - Cambridge Dictionary

Apparently @WillHodgman needs a lesson on this. #TassieNeedsAPayrise

Offers are for discussion, not ultimatums @CPSUTas

[Tom Lynch @TGLxer]

And this is why Tasmanians need a decent pay rise #ScrapTheCap #TassieNeedsAPayRise

Peter Gutwein in the paper saying pay rises, which are below living costs, are fair (but he's happy to spend big bucks on advertising). #politas #ScrapTheCap #TassieNeedsAPayRise #AusUnions

At the @HACSUTasmania rally today we hear of workload issues for health workers and paramedics. It is reported that, as we rally, there are 6 ambulances ramped beneath us right now. Shame #politas #TassieNeedsAPayRise #ChangeTheRules
