The focus of this weekend's series of concerts is on European music from 1750-1850, an important and transitional time in Western music. Over the next three days, we have four more performances as part of our #SpringFest weekend. We hope you'll join us! See website for tickets.
Our SpringFest concert opened with a performance of the "String Quartet in G Minor" by Joseph Bologne, the Chevalier de Saint-Georges. He was widely considered to be one of the most talented men in Europe of his time, but he is little known.

If you’re unfamiliar with Saint-Georges, you may have heard him called the Black Mozart. His musical training is unknown but he rose to become one of 18th-century Europe's most celebrated musicians - a virtuoso violinist and an accomplished composer. SMF performs his work today!
What are you doing for lunch today? If you live or work in @Staunton, consider a visit to Europe! Enjoy a FREE one-hour concert (12 pm) that spans the music of Mozart's era - across Paris, Berlin & Vienna. https://t.co/K11Fvml5bg
