The fact that it's Messi is either irrelevant or an example of a no call because he is Messi. Neither should've been a card.

And I said, yes but the referee instructions do and this isn't even a yellow. Intent matters in how the call is supposed to be refereed and people just couldn't fathom it

If you watch the US National teams when they play any teams south of the US border with refs from below the border our players just get abused and no calls and when we create a stiff breeze near an opponent we get a yellow or more. It's terrible regional bias
