@Ari58394958 @thinktoomuchmom I started this account in Dec. 2020 because I knew we needed to emphasize the importance of smiles and shared human expression. 🙂
UPDATE: today my son, who faces severe speech delays and needs to see faces and be able to see his own, toddled off happily to pre-K at school (he goes b/c CPS has therapy options).
He was returned to me two hours later with a mask forcibly tied to his face by a teacher. Crying.
@sarahbeth345 My dad died of cancer 10+ years ago. Near the end, my mom and I got colds and my mom made us wear surgical masks in his hospital room. His oncologist came in and told us to take them off as they were pointless after X minutes. He said it was better for dad to see our faces.
@LauraMiers @thinktoomuchmom I wonder if perhaps more than Covid, you're afraid of confronting anything outside your own echo chamber?
Look, you can do as you'd like. But you're missing a lot in understanding humanity if you're not willing to engage in conversation with anyone outside your own perspective.
@LauraMiers Or maybe there's actually legit people out there in the world who have different opinions than you but it's easier for you to assume we're all fake than to admit that we could have a viable perspective as well?
(p.s. my real acct is @thinktoomuchmom but you blocked me there)
It's always fascinating how many people assume that anyone who disagrees = coordinated attack campaign.
People have different opinions. Many of us believe masks cause more harm than good.
We should encourage ppl to engage in a convo about why, rather than automatically dismiss.
I cannot believe people convinced themselves that a toddlers/child walking around w half their faces covered for going on 2 years would have no significant effects.
I cannot tell you how badly we have hurt many kids, esp our most vulnerable. I promise to help pick up the pieces
@MoMoPerry I may be an outlier, but seeing other people in masks bothers me as much, if not more than wearing a mask myself.
It's dehumanizing, alienating and dystopian. Humans need to see faces.
