@bodegas33 @danidonovan I've honestly thought about doing this, but the thought always stays in the shower, and I forget to look for a white board after I am out π€£
@HowtoADHD@HowtoADHD I was just revisiting this feed. I work for a vacation rental company and we have to educate a l o t of home owners. Part of our messaging is them that the dog is not a pet, but an extension of the person, just like if someone who has a wheelchair.
@MDWoodruff@badtakesbad@HowtoADHD It's discrimination because you're asking to prove their disability. You're not going to ask someone in a wheelchair to stand up to prove they can't walk. I'm not saying asking for documentation is violating Hippa but I've seen where people have started to walk a fine line before
@badtakesbad@MDWoodruff@HowtoADHD Exactly. The ADA gives you the tools you need with the questions that can be asked and guidelines on what to do if the dog is acting out
@MDWoodruff@HowtoADHD People with other invisible disabilities don't have to provide documentation. If you push for documentation you also are cutting a very fine line of violating Hippa. Documentation is not necessary. The ADA provides the necessary tools for businesses to work with service animals.
@MindyBeeArt@chief_ninetoes@HowtoADHD Haha. Been there! I'm in hospitality too. Not on the ground, but have been in hotel and vacation rental customer service for a combined 17 years.
@andjasonsays@HowtoADHD Correct. A service animal is an extension of their human. They are allowed anywhere their human goes at no additional cost. You can opt to train a service animal yourself instead of hiring. That can help with cost.
@abrenty@HowtoADHD If a pet in the next room does bother you, you can always ask to move. You have to do what is best for you. You can't ask someone else to adjust for your own needs.
@HowtoADHD No pet fees either. Service animals are an extension of their person, just like people who are in wheelchairs. They can't go anywhere without their wheelchair and neither can those with service animals. Good for you for advocating for yourself!
@Mollys_ADHD (2/2) If diagnosed younger, I don't feel it would have been much different, given the lack of knowledge of ADHD in girls and in general. When I was diagnosed, I only knew it to be an attention deficit and nothing more.
@SPNthenandnow@RobBenedict@dicksp8jr I love when Rob pointed out the hair flip in the shower. Every time I watch this episode, I think, "who flips their hair in the shower?"
@Lin_Manuel I'm killing it at work creating new processes, (and fingers crossed, a new team) so much so that I can't help to channel Maui's ego sometimes!
