Some interesting facts about the Niger Republic and how it relates to Nigeria

1.Hausaland: Niger is part of the historic Hausaland, a region in West Africa that encompasses parts of present-day Niger, Nigeria, and Chad. The Hausa people are the largest ethnic group in Niger, making up over 50% of the population.
2.Kufan Kanawa, an abandoned settlement in the Republic of Niger, is believed by ethnoarchaeologists to be the original Kano. Present-day Kano is the most important city-state in Northern Nigeria.
