@WeAreCanProud Certain that Carney will win. Canadians aren't like Americans. They won't be sucked in by right wing propaganda like the MAGA crowd. Canada really needs someone in charge who's got a fantastic economics background right now.
@JeanPFournier Yes you've hit on the most important factor for who's going to be the best person for the PM of Canada. Not economics qualifications, not the ability to stand up to Trump, not even being able to speak French, but how comfortable you are with speaking French.
@PalestineMATH@elonmusk Bet they don't have a massive immigration problem either. Oh perhaps when Trump's gone full authoritarian the US won't have one! More chance of sneaking into North Korea ๐. Trumpian bonus
@Morgan_C_Ross@WeAreCanProud I hear she's got a following still in the party, but amongst the people her name will always be mud. The more confident and knowledgeable she sounds, the more ridiculous she sounds.
@thegreatgeorgy@WeAreCanProud She's an idiot. The UK is still recovering from her 49 days of economic lunacy. The tories had that nightmare result in the last election because of Truss.
@WeAreCanProud I genuinely think criticism from Liz Truss, the worst and shortest lived prime minister ever, will be a boost for Carney. He's probably very pleased not to have an endorsement from Truss.
@SWols1@Concern70732755 D'ya think you forge new international alliances and do new trade deals without travelling abroad? Least he's not spending a third of his term and millions of tax payers dollars on the golf course.
@ShawnElizabet15@Concern70732755 Trump wants the Liberals to win. He'd rather deal with Carney than Poilievre he said. Carney's got got something Trump hasn't. Actual qualifications and experience to lead a nation. Trump seems to have read up on how to destroy a country.

@MarkJCarney Before Ukraine in 2022, I thought all this talk of defence spending was ridiculous. It's the 21st century, no one's invading another country in this modern world, I thought. Was I ever wrong.
@AreOhEssEyeEe@braunshizzle Yeah fix the border, but what's the measure? What does donny t actually want? It's currently 0.2% of the US fentanyl coming from Canada. Is 0.1% sufficient? 0.05%? Cos let's face it, it's never going to be 0%. It'd be an unrealistic expectation.
