@ThePEUmbrella@WannaTeachPE Depends on what you want to do afterwards:
If ability will impact then ask them to sit one of three lines 1. Being confident 2. Little confident and 3. Not confident. With the caveat that I may move them if we need more of some areas.
Youโll get 10/10/10 then split in half ๐๐ป
Session today with the @themoderndaygk original VOS gloves. Havenโt used them for a few seasons due to time but man they are awesome. Really have to concentrate and have to say dropped the off one which was way better than when I first wore them! Love them!
Starting tomorrow:
Net and Wall games have common tactical strategies - is our line of inquiry.
Starting out with exposure, rotation of seven different games, all with ways to differentiate with equipment.
GIFs made for each one which when filmed turned competitive ๐
@Wallace_PhysEd Great for badminton when you donโt have enough courts for everyone to play. Set up a BAM skill station like a flick serve and they can self assess.
Concept Based Inquiry sequence on Net and Wall games coming soon. Excited to see how the students engage with the variety of games. Aim is to expose students to different games and see if they can make connections between skills, rules, attacking & defending concepts.
@BenShields2 Mine was โLeading Sport in Schoolโ content was great and discussions really good to hear what other people are doing internationally.
However, lectures became a pain when clocks when back in the UK ended up as 9:00pm start. My problem was switching off as they got me thinking.
As a specialist, its all PE! I have time to plan more engaging, thought provoking and enjoyable lessons. My teaching of PE is soooo much better than it used to be! Foster should look at the model international primary school take with specialist PE lessons.
How can the UK Gov expect a change in PE when it is not seen as a priority for class teachers. Surely, employing a full time specialist is a far better model. As a former class teacher in UK, I understand PE was never top of the list. Due to demands elsewhere.
@carolhawman The push for girls football should come outside of curriculum time. With the aim for enjoyment over anything else.
Curriculum wise I donโt think you can go far wrong with the PYP approach. The emphasis is no so much the skills but the connected social learning.
@themoderndaygk@BenFoster mentioned this recently, he said a lot of the keepers in the Prem would struggle in the National League. Mainly due to the physically and style of play.
