A5: I work with a team of educators on https://t.co/UzfBz6x8Y8. Not everything on the site is about anxiety but we created this site as a resource for educators as we navigate the pandemic and more. #root4teachers
A4: I think phrases like "Are you okay?" or "I'm always here if you need to talk" are better options. Additionally, I think we need to make it a point to let them know that what they are experiencing is real and they should take their time processing. #root4teachers
@smkohl It is challenging... but like I mentioned before, it is about the relationship... so, sending a follow up email or a remind text goes a long way to say "hey... I know you aren't okay, I noticed, and I am here." #root4teachers
@SMoore_teach @feelbetteredu@MHinEducation That is a great support over time. Pairing that up With something to support teachers during the day would be a great pairing.
A3: Our principal does a “check-in” through a Google docs form each morning where teachers can share how they feel and let the team know if they need more support that day.#root4teachers
A3: This one is trickier I think... our district has a partnership with a local behavioral health center which allots district employees 10 free therapy sessions, but I feel like we could do better! @feelbetteredu and @MHinEducation are great resources #root4teachers
A3: We have a tap-out team of about 5 staff members that will relieve a teacher for 5-10 min for personal reasons or to have one-on-one time with a student that needs a break. #root4teachers

@WR6Principal Its the attendance issues too! Even more so when we are #virtual... they turn their cameras off, or don't participate in the chats, etc. #root4teachers
A2: Our school is fortunate to have a counselor and social worker. Ours are exceptional about providing calming tools, small groups, and communicate to parents resources to help.#root4teachers
Q2: Once we notice a student in need. What systems or universal practices do we have in place to support those with anxiety, as well as other mental health concerns?

A1: This answer is from my experience as a mom and teacher. Children with anxiety often cry, shutdown or get upset easily over issues that normally do not warrant that reaction. #root4teachers
Q1: Considering 7.1% of children ages 3-17 have diagnosed anxiety, it's important we are able to identify the signs. What are some telltale signs within the classroom?
